Why this card matters
pop
267 listings is a moderate supply floor and PSA 10 premium (~7x raw) signals real grading upside, but sample sizes of 2–5 across most slabs are too thin to confirm durable scarcity.
demand
Altaria carries genuine nostalgia from the Hoenn era and the dragon/fairy typing has a dedicated fanbase, but it lacks the tier-1 cultural pull of Charizard or Pikachu to sustain premium demand alone.
artist
Special Illustration Rares from Paradox Rift are consistently well-regarded for their full-art aesthetic, and Altaria ex's dreamy, painterly composition is among the set's more desirable SIR treatments.
catalyst
A -8.4% 30-day momentum trend is a clear headwind with no visible near-term catalyst — price is drifting, not coiling.
