Why this card matters
pop
JP XY Promo with no reprint vector; 13yr-old set, fixed promo allocation. Graded pop likely thin but unconfirmed — no overcrowding signals. Promo structure structurally caps supply.
demand
Pikachu + Magikarp crossover hits two beloved icons. JP collector premium is real. Not a solo Pikachu card, so ceiling is softer — but dual-character novelty sustains strong niche pull.
artist
Holo finish on a JP promo is visually premium. Promo-exclusive art adds uniqueness. Without a marquee illustrator attribution, a full point of upside is withheld.
catalyst
30d momentum dead at 0%. PSA 10 comps cluster tightly ($10.7K–$12.1K), showing price stability not acceleration. No event or release imminent. Hold thesis, not buy-the-moment thesis.
